Hope pick n mix headset for C456

Posts: 2,255
I was reading a thread earlier about this and there seemed a bit of confusion over exactly which top and bottom part was needed.
Can't find the thread again... can anyone please confirm which parts I need??
Its for C456 tapered headset and straight 1 1/8 forks.
Thanks
Ps, i'm assuming there's still the not so good feelings on the on one smoothie headset, as I was originally going to get that??

The sizes are:
ZS44/28.6 top
ZS49/30 (1.5 > 1 1/8 conversion) bottom
I dont know the hope codes for these, but I got these in a Cane Creek 40 a couple of weeks back. Personally I would rather have that over a Hope, but thats just me. You might find you need the 1.5 standard bottom and an extra convertor in Hope headsets.A Flock of Birds

I have a Hope one, other than the price I can't fault it.0

No thats not the one, I had to get the top and bottom parts seperately. If you gimme a few hours, I will double check the boxes when I get home to be certain what I fitted. I think Pedalon are the only place I found them online.
Edit: Nope Im certain the sizes are right, it was Tredz that had them:
Top (In carbon Tall stack only): http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cane-Creek-40-U ... _44787.htm
Bottom: http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cane-Creek-40-L ... =Froogle02
But as they only had the tall stack top, I got my LBS to order the parts in instead (as I prefer the short stack top.A Flock of Birds

@ ben, i'm confused (doesn't take much) do I need the 2 exact items you linked too? Or something else as you mention tall and short??0

They are both generic pages for the seperates, you still need to pick the right sizes (as per my previous post). The bottom one has the exact one I bought listed as the first in the list - 'S.H.I.S Fitment ZS49/30'. For the top half they only have the 'tall' stack version, which is a bit roadie style for my liking, but you might like. This is listed as 'S.H.I.S Fitment ZS44/28.6' on the right hand list.
The do however have a cane creek 10 upper in the right fit and a short stack here: http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cane-Creek-10-U ... _44790.htm listed as the 'ZS 1 1/8 Short' one.
TBH I would probably get the 10 upper and 40 lower and go with that. This would bring the headset in at just £47.68 for the pair, which is pretty good for such good quality parts.A Flock of Birds

So just to check as I don't want to get the wrong ones...
top @ £17.99;
S.H.I.S Fitment ZS44/28.6
ZS 1 1/8 Short
bottom @ £25.19;
S.H.I.S Fitment ZS49/30
TR 1.5 - 1 1/8 Flush Conv
Totalling £43.18 (so don't know if i've got the right parts??)
Is that all I need ?? Thanks for the help and sorry for being dumb (can't change the habit of a lifetime...)0 -
