how often do you buy a new bike?

How often do you plan to buy a new bike?
Or do you only buy one when your current one fails?

    I was going to switch out at 18,000 miles but now I'm there and the bike is still comfortable, why bother. Prefer to spend my monies on nicer clothes, gadgets and upgrading contact points.

    It has been every year, but I plan on keeping this one for a few years and saving for something really special
