So I've got a spesh (FSR XC comp 07) frame with some threads that need cleaning up with a tap but I don't know what kind of thread type they use. The seem like a fine but I'm not really sure. If I can't find the right tap then I will just have to helicoil it and add in a normal metric bolt.

Any ideas?

The ones that join the linkage to the frame, it says they are 10mm but the thread is more fine than a normal one.

You often get s little tool in tap and die sets to measure threads. I haven't got a spesh so not entirely sure of the bolts you are talking about but I would suggest measuring the pitch of the thread of the bolt you've pulled out.

However the thread on the tap often looks deeper than on the bolts as its made to receive the bolt threads.

They used to be M10x1.0, so it sounds like they probably still are! We got a tap from a local tool shop.

Thanks for that, it was a M10x1.0 thread. Got it all nicely cleaned up now.
