hope quick release

Any ideas whats up with hope seat stem release. When i tighten it up and then try and push the release handle in its that tight you cant push it in and you need a pair of grips to open the handle again. Is it buggered.

    Sounds to me like the mechanism needs a good clean and a bit of copperslip on the brass bush. That should sort it out.

    Replace it with a decent one. Pretty much anything else.

    Lots of people do like them - even my son has one. But lots of people seem to have problems - needing them really tight to stop the seatpost slipping. Seizing up. I use non blingy ones, cheaper, work as well or better.
    But I am cheap.

    I know what you mean re the need to be so tight, as thats what i am finding with it. I will try a clean etc but think its just not up to the job.
