Brake Lever lateral play

Hi everyone,

I'm getting some sideways movement in my brake levers (Hayes Ryde brakes) its at 90 degrees to the standard direction when you pull the lever, basically they feel loose, and it's probably a simple question of tightening them up.
However, I can't see to find any screw/bolt etc to do it, the bolt that feels loose doesnt seem to have any way to tighten it up, at least not with any tool that I have.

Sorry for the ridiculous question but its really annoying me now!

Cheers

    You mean floppy?

Most are on bushes. Kits available from some manufacturers

I mean they move like up and down, 90 degrees to the angle at which you would pull them to the bars to brake, I guess you maybe could call it floppy? I don't know! Can you not tighten them up in anyway?

If it is a bolt that attaches the lever to the lever body, try tightening this(you may need two allen keys/torx/whatever fitting it is). If you cant or it doesnt solve the problem, the bushing/bearing at this point may be worn

Thats definately the point at which it's loose, feels loose rather than worn though. I can push the bolt from one side to the other, I just cant work out how to tighten them, its not torx, allen keys, screwdriver or anything I've seen before.
Am I just being an idiot?

If its not torx or allen key, it may be a rivet?

Looks like an Allen bolt in the pic, is that not what you've got?

Try a picture of yours showing the actual problem.
