been out for a ride just now, and apart from them not helping me avoid a ruddy dog running in front of me! it was a success, i could felt lots more grip and the wheels have definitely got me round a bit faster, how they compare i don't know since i only used the standard tyres that came with the bike when i got it ,hence the question really.

The tyres that come with the Aksium WTS wheelset are actually called "Aksion".
I have a pair. So far, so good. No punctures after around a thousand miles.
They do seem to slit quite easily though and seem to pick up a lot of debris. I'm forever picking flints and bits of glass out of them, and super-gluing up slits.
    They will be replaced.
  • A seriously bad tyre, no grip in the wet, I did the long french revolution on them and coming round the roundabouts going back into calais I almost came off! Also they are so hard to get on to the rim on both of my wheel sets I almost gave up! at the moment they might be going in the bin having ony done 500 miles!

I imagine they will whisk you off to pastures new in no time when you utter the immortal phase "Piff, Paff,Puff". :-)

Funny how tyres are such a subjective topic. I took off a pair of Mavic Aksion and replaced with GP4000s which have been so bad with punctures and cutting that I have binned them and put back the Aksions, so from my point of view they are certainly good tyres for the c**p Hampshire lanes.
