Just bought a new set of tubs from a guy on the Forum, great wheels and reall delighted with them. Thing is I will be using them for TTs and some local club races over the next couple of weeks, nothing major. I will be doing 5-6 100ml Sportives during the summer and am wondering what to do if I get a flat. What do other people do? What options do I have go get back on the road ASAP and get to the finish!!!!
Thanks
Paul

You need a whole spare tyre prepared so you can replace it.

Never done it but I understand you need to have it preglued and it will be enough to ride on. I seem to remember reading Leonard Zinn at Velonews writing about it online - you could probably search for those articles.
I'm left handed, if that matters.

    1. Spare tub in back pocket - I carry an old pre-taped one. Takes 3 minutes to change
    2. Undo valve, fill tub with anti puncture gloop - Stan's or similar - various brands available everywhere. The theory behind it is that if you have a puncture it fills the hole so that you can pump the tub back up.
    3. Something like Vittoria Pit Stop - can of foam that blows the tub up with - same principle as above but foam, not gloop and only blown into the tub when you have a puncture
    4. Continue riding - unless you do soemthing major they don't go down as fast as clinchers, so all is not lost.

Just started riding tubs and piece of p1ss to change. I use tub tape.

Take off old tub...........put on new one............inflate...........ride! Simple.......dont listen to all the folk on here that say 'tubs are a nightmare'.....'not worth the hastle'...................no hastle / no fuss!

Either change or vitoria pit stop.

    Enjoy

Yes, agree with that, with tape, tubs are far less hassle. If you puncture on the road side then no need to look for the cause of the puncture, just put the spare tub on.

Mind you glueing a tub PROPERLY, now that is hassle.
