Newbie on a budget

I have looked at many bikes. I am new to road cycling and don't want 2nd hand or to spend too much. I was thinking either btwin triban 3 or carerra tdf. Any advice appreciated.

    What's your budget? About 300? I'm sure you could get something decent second hand and hardly used for that.

    Check eBay for Trek 1.2 and Spesh Allez as a good starter..
