why are brakes sticking to new wheels?

i have just got my new mavic aksium wheels. just fitted and been doing some fettling. but strangely the brakes bit front and back are sticking to the wheels when i test them? i don't know if there is just something on the wheels or have i got something on both sets of brake pads? i do wonder if it will naturally wear off one i go on on her but don't want to try riding tomorrow if its going to be a proper problem!

    Take it out for a 5 min ride now and see if it's still doing it.

    actually as if by magic it seems to be ok now anyway i don't know why it was doing it but seems fine now :-)
