Guys,
Hi, i am new to the board and I need some help selecting a first bike. I plan to get adventurous of road, although not for a little while with trails being the primary riding terrain until I have built up my confidence. I will also be riding with my 3 kids and plan to ride to work which is approx a 14 mile round trip on a rare occasion weather permitting. I was guessing I could have some more suitable road tyres for the road work, is that correct?

My budget is approx £500 and I have rounded it down to 2 bikes, but if you have any other suggestions please let me know.
The bikes in question are:

Canyon Yellowstone 4.0

Decathlon B’twin Rockrider 8.1

Which of the 2 should i go for?

Thanks for taking the time to help
Jon

I'd say the Rockrider on spec, but as always try and have a demo/ride on one for size/feel, etc, that won't be possible with the canyon.
