I've been looking at these as another option to handbuilts. As far as i can see the hubs alone (mono 3) are roughly £180 along with the mavic open pro rims that cost around £80...

Am i missing something with the wheelset being £280 ish?.

I know they aren't the lightest set of wheels, but as a one set of do it all wheels they seem to tick all the right boxes.

I've got a pair of these for £140! :). Got them on ebay, so there are still bargains to be had on there.

They're a great set of wheels for the money - but the freehub noise is a love/hate thing - me, I love it - no need to buy a bell...

I love these wheels. I use them for commuting and winter riding so they get a lot of mileage and they are bombproof. Light enough or the job and good hubs.

Very good nice wheels, have had a pair for 3 years and very pleased with them. Although `factory built` I think that refers to the lacing up etc and they are then hand tensioned up; I`ve just had the rear rim replaced by LBS handbuilding it up on Mavic Open Pro.
Reasonable weight, easy of rebuild, durability ie can ride if break a spoke , smooth hubs, good price all +++ points, good helpful company ,GB built too :)
Get a pair you won`t be disappointed !
  • It looks like good reviews all round soo far then.

£140 on ebay?. it seems like you picked yourself up a bargain there...

Looking on there now they are returning at £270. Is that the best deal to be had?. Very tempted to hit the order button.

Got it from 'fastpartsforbikes' which is David Hinde. He has had a bad reputation for after sales service, and to be honest, I wouldn't have bought them from him if I had googled his name before. However, they came really quick.

He seems to sell a lot of these wheels 'buy it now' for regular prices, but now and again, the shop will auction a new pair - keep an eye on these, especially if you're after a Campag set.

Ended up getting them off Winstanleys.. I've had good service from them in the past some hoping to get them on rather soon. I would have hung around for bit more of a bargain but then I would be missing out on riding on them...

Definitely didn't need them, this cycling bug is dangerous!!!

you do NOT want to do that :( , and you will not be disappointed in them; used mine for winter , sportives , week in Pyrenees as says on tin `use for riding do it all wheels`. :)

These are great wheels. Winstanleys was the cheapest reatiler I found for them a while back too.
  • Great service from Winstanleys. Ordered Thursday and turned up yesterday.

Here is a quick snap of them fitted..

OT: beautiful bike and coincidentally I use my hopes on my Ti bike. What seat post is that? Looks like its got some layback and I'm thinking I need that on mine.

Edit: just seen its the VN standard post. Looks lovely.

Ok how did you get the transfers of the top tube and leave the Chinook transfer on? I want to do this on my mistral but the transfers look to be all one transfer. Also what made you want to change the wheels in the first place?
