So I've decided on a set of Shamal Ultra's, but I'm unsure as for the tyre choice! I can get most of the Vittoria range for good prices so was considering the Diamanté Pro Radial but in 24mm as Im a bigger guy and 22mm sounds scary... I'm open to suggestions for other Vittoria's and even other brands as the wheels I saved on. They will only be used in the dry (hopefully) will be doing a few sportives this year, I will be doing alot of around 60+ milers but the other end 20miles is the early morning hour so speed would be nice, I like to push it in the corners and feel it stick also. So I am open to a few suggestions

It absolutely has to be Continental GP4000s. End of.0

Diamante Pros are NOT grippy, especially in the wet. Not particularly durable either (although probably no less than you'd expect for a lightweight, racy tyre). They are very quick though and give a nice smooth ride compared to GP4000. I haven't tried the Radiale variant so can't comment on that, or GP4000S which I've heard are a big improvement on GP4000. Thinking of going for Ultremo ZX for my next set of racing tyres...0

Why does it have to be?
You've got some class wheels there OP and you like Vittoria tyres, so stick a pair of Open Corsa Evo CX's on and experience a lush ride - or try a pair of Veloflex Masters in 23mm.0 -
Keep away from Pro-race 3 for everyday riding. If you get a cut on these you may as well throw them away. Great if your racing but I find they puncture to easily. GP4000s will serve you well.0

I always use Vittoria. Rubino Pro in the winter and Open Corsa Evo in the summer.
Never tried any other brands so can't comment but have found the other brilliant so I've stuck to the "if it's not broken then don't fix it".***** Pro Tour Pundit Champion 2020, 2018, 2017 & 2011 *****0
