Which Computer??

I'm looking to buy a cycle specific computer with GPS that provides the usual functions as well as being able to upload a route and then see it on screen.
I've been looking at the Garmin 500 as I already have the HR / Cadence add on's plus the size is compact to site on the stem. Can anyone offer any opinions on how good / bad it is?
Are there any other brands / computers that might be worth a look?
Thanks in advance.

The Garmin is very good.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

after a bit of digging i'm now tempted by the 800!!
is there a notable difference which is worth the extra dollars?0 -
Yes. The 500 will log your route so you can look at it later, the 800 is more like a sat-nav - you can set a route on the PC or 800 itself and it wil give you step by step directions and map.
Its also touchscreen.
