Pannier Rack Mountings

Why don't manufacturers put pannier rack mountings on their new 29er frames? :x

    I need panniers to carry out my work as a volunteer ranger for Sustrans & I'm looking for a decent 29er general purpose hardtail, which I can use when the mood takes me to replace my 2009 Rockhopper, which is for sale. I've recently been bitten by the 29er bug & have just bought a new aluminium custom built Santa Cruz Tallboy, so for those doubters :lol: I know just how good 29ers really are! :lol:

    Have a look at the Salsa range of bikes.

    My Mukluk has then as does their Fargo.

    Watch out for Aldi's sales as they do a great pannier rack for under a tenner every so often, mines 18 months old and has many more years left in it.

    He probably doesn't notice Ben Nevis with those tyres.....
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    The On-One Inbred 29er has pannier mounts. Failing that, you could always get whatever frame you wanted and just fit the rack on with some p-clips.
