Heading over to Florida next week for a holiday with the missus. Just wondering if anyone can recommend any good bike shops in the Orlando area. Be looking to buy jerseys and stuff mainly, although if I wondered into a dusty old shop and seen a discontinued Addict CR2 frame cheap then that could change everything. Also if anyone knows of certain items that can be obtained over there much cheaper than here that I could be maybe stocking up on while I have the chance that would be valuable info also. Thanks in advance folks.

Was there in 2010. To be honest the shops are really far apart but I found three decent bike shops in what I call a reasonable distance in American terms.

Two in a place called College Park which is outside of Downtown Orlando and very well to do. The best one is called Orange cycles, huge selection of stock and kit. There is another shop about 500 yards up the road which was nice but a little empty. On the other side of town there is Winter Park Cycles which is again really cool. The issue is that to us English or indeed Irish, is that they are not 'that' far apart, but to the Americans, they cannot comprehend the fact that I caught a bus from Disney to Downtown Orlando and then walked to each shop. Edgewater Drive on which Orange cycles sits is a looooonnnngggg road, but worth the walk admiring house after house that looked much the same as the last, complete with American flag in the porch !

All shops worth a visit if only to regale the Yanks on how we all live in Castles and that Le Tour actually passes the front door each year.

If you have a car, easy, if you are on foot or bus a small pain, but I enjoyed it. A couple of links to start you off.

Thanks for that. I had come across Orange Cycles before but not the other one. Google maps says they're about 30 min drive from apartment so not so bad. Prices look reasonable enough compared to Evans and the likes, generally same amount except in $'s not £'s, if you follow me.

Probably getting ahead of myself here but anyone know, if I happened across a great deal on a frame, what the best way to get it home would be. I'm thinking post would be best myself so as not to get caught for customs on the way back.

    Cool,

UPS I would have thought. Ask in the shop as Orange cycles sell to people from all over the world and will no doubt have the answer.

In a car you are sorted !

Cheers, I'm only down the road from that and will definitely be visiting the outlets at some stage. Didn't know there was any cycling apparel outlets there, be handy to pick up some cheapish gear for the Summer.

Well cheaper than we pay here anyway (although probably not by an incredible amount). It's stuff I need to get anyway for the blistering Summer we're expecting here in Ireland.

I did have a look for this place last year whilst my wife was looking in every womans shop in the place but couldn't find it.

I am back in Orlando this summer so will have another try.

It is the old Beltz shopping area for those of you who haven't been since they totally revamped the place.
