Which shocks for my GT Avalanche 1.0??

Hi, gang, im new to the site, really helpful so far.

I've just started riding Afan Valley, and Glyncorrowg, and absolutely loving it! Tho, it seems to be battering my bike lol. Im debating an upgrade, and torn between brakes or front shock. Will do both in time, but i have about £150 at the mo to spend, and im thinking go for a shock first of all.

I really know nothing about shocks, although i do know mine are rubbish, Suntour something, and they beginning to compress, and stay compressed. So what would you advise for around this budget??

Or would it be better to spend the £150 on better brakes first, then save more money for a shock in a higher price range??

lol, cheers for the link mate, id want them in black anyway, current ones are black. They're also out of stock in both colours, but thats doesnt matter. At least i have an idea of what to aim for.

I've seen a set of Formula Oro's for £99 buy it now, any thoughts on these?

Forks are the important thing to upgrade and is what I'd be doing first, though that is a good deal for the Oros.
