Anyone else here doing the Kilo to Go, Wiggle Motion in Mercia next weekend?

Bored on a wet bank holiday I've put the short 54 mile route into both RideWithGPS and Garmin Connect.

  • Had a great weekend away. Did the long route.
Cannock Chase was a treat. Feed stations so-so. Not being the fastest I was somewhat solo in the last 10 or so. Utterly defeated by the climb out of Ironbridge, definitely lacking miles I think, but finished with a massage, without doubt the best fiver I ever spent. Cold start - just about got the kit and food right but longs might have been better. Nice yellow Casati out there, but I *really need* a Wilier now even if I stick to metric 100s in future...

Did the short route with the OP, a fun day was had by all.

Nice to see so many people out on my (very) local roads. The short route was very flat, but hammering along made it fun. the terrible roads after the feed station were a laugh after watching P-R last week.

Looking forward to the pictures being posted to see how cool I look :?

Did the long route and enjoyed the ride, the climb out of Ironbridge and the two feed stops put pay to my Gold Standard though, however at the age of 61 and sporting a nice head cold I managed to get round in 5hrs 22mins. Well run event but some problems with the results as some of the guys that entered the Long Route actually rode the shorter route but didn't inform the organisers. I thought a timing check on the shorter route after the two routes split would have caught them automatically. 8)
