I was looking in two local bike shops and what caught my eyes was a Cannondale supersix with SRAM apex and two Cube Agrees, one was last years model with 105 and Fulcrum Racing 5s for £1450 and the newer one with 105/Ultegra mix with an updated frame and internal cable routing. The wheelset was DT Swiss CSW RA 1.0 Race. This bike was £100 more than last years model. The Cannondale SuperSix Apex was a little high of my budget of £1500. I liked the 105 super six but it is even more expensive. I telephoned another local bike shop which is a Giant specialist. They mentioned the Giant TCR composite 2 which was within my budget and also a second hand Scott R3 2010 which they said was only used a couple of times. It was on sale for £900 but I was told the price could be lowered. However the wheels on the Scott have been changed to Giant wheels which I believe may not be as good as the old ones. I am going to check out the Scott and Giants this week when the shop re-opens after Easter. There is also a man who sells Trek and Felt bikes locally but I haven't researched their range of bikes that would be in my budget range.
I would prefer to buy from a local bike shop because I need the gearing changed to suit the junior restrictions and a local bike shop would sort that out for me before they sold me the bike. I'm really looking for a lightweight fast bike for racing on. The two cubes would be the best looking but that is not really my priority. Any advice that could help me make a decision would be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention that there is also a Specialized dealer nearby. I have always found them to be quite overpriced. Are there any that would fit into my budget?0

Comes down to what feels right so recommend you get some test rides organised on the short list you've created. If you're asking what else should you consider then I would recommend having a ride on a Trek Madone 3.5 as part of your pre purchase testing. Have fun finding your bike - I am about to start the same journey as I replace my 2007 Madone 5.9Trek Madone 5.9

I got a test ride on one of the Cube Agree and I was very pleased with the ride quality. I'm just not sure that it's as suitable for racing as some of the other bikes I have mentioned. As for the Trek Madone, I'll have to take a look at it - thanks.0

I have the cube agree GTC race 2011 (£1800 when new) its the same frame as the one your looking at
I have been very happy with it stiff responsive great fun on shorter rides, I have also found it comfortable for longer century rides ( 5 hours plus no problem)
i think the 2011 models have better bits for the money eg mine full ultegra, fulcrum 5 wheels easton forks (2012 own brand forks heavier wheels (black ultegra looks great though)
your right to test ride, i went in it to buy a bianchi and came out with the cube (suited me better and got more for your money)0
