Pedal dilema...

Hey guys, i have just started riding and bought look keo pedals off here. They are nice but i am really struggling to clip in once i start riding, are there any pedals people recommend that are 'easy' to click in and go? I am not 'really' bothered how they look as long as they are practical and don't weigh a ton lol
Cheers guys,

I'd stick with the looks. You'll get used to them eventually. Practice makes perfect.
If you really can't get on with them, try Speedplay. They are double sided so you don't need to do the flipping-over-with-the-toe manoeuvre every time you clip in, you just stomp down and you're in.0 -
speedplay mmm lol i'll take a look0

Or just go for the MTB approach for the not dissimilar results as Speedplays for much less money - stomp and go.
But anyway, it doesn't matter how easy or hard a pedal is to clip in to - ultimately it is a pretty straightforward task and if you give it time you'll be fine whichever pedals you use.Faster than a tent.......0 -
You'll get used to it.
Look style and SPD-SL style may be trickier to clip into than some systems to start with -> but you'll appreciate the comfort and secure feel when compared to something like MTB shimano SPDs.
Can't comment on Speedplays... but the price is enough to put me off, + I've read that they feel more floaty/less secure and stable than SPD-SL/Look.0 -

….which is not true of Speedplay zeros, unless you opt for ludicrous amounts of float. Have you ever seen Cancellara pull his foot out of his Speedplay pedals?0 -
Think you have had good advice already - look aren't the easiest pedals to clip into but you will get used to them and they make particularly good pedals. If you really can't get on with them I do find Shimano road pedals easier to clip into away from traffic lights and I use them on my commuting bike. But I'm sticking with Look for longer rides on my 'good' bike.

I've used speedplay zero, look keo and Shimano ultegra, and the speedplay zeros are the most stable feeling of the three. You can also adjust the float and dial it out altogether if that's your preference. They're worth the extra cash in my opinion.0 -
Pivitol question is how often your clipping in!
Club runs I clip in and out maximum 5 times, speed for clipping in thus isn't an issue so use keo blades. Didn't get on with speedplays, not a big enough surface area0 -

I found the LOOK Keo's harder to clip in and out of than SPD's. Plus I nearly always have to look down to find the orientation of the pedal too
Made a bad choice with shoes, so have gone back to SPD's, and find them more comfortable, which is probably down to the shoes, but not noticed any difference in security (or 'power transfer') :!:Share The Road Event http://www.sharetheroadride.co.uk

Cheers all for responses, i will wait and see how it goes. I don't run with a club at the moment so its just me and although i don't have to clip in too many times, i just know when i do i am like jayvee 'I found the LOOK Keo's harder to clip in and out of than SPD's. Plus I nearly always have to look down to find the orientation of the pedal too'.
Anyway having looked at price etc id find it difficult to pay for them at moment so we'll see how it goes :-)
Cheers all,
