Are the likes of Gore ride on cable sets worth the money, basically are they a worthwhile upgrade.

Yes i have them on my winter road bike and mtb worth every penny better than the nokon cables on my summer bike.

I've had a set of brake cables on my Tricross for 18months and not lubed them once, still silky smooth. Looking for another cheap set to come along.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • Same, got them on my mountain bike, excellent.

Pro ones (ie fully sealed) yes - 18 months on on the good bike and not one jot of adjustment needed.

Non Pro ones, no, not really.

Other equivalent cables are avaialable - ie Jagwire, Nokon, etc etc

How'd you get a cheap set of these and how can I get a set?

I grabbed a set from the classifieds here. Admittedly the colour of white wasn't my first choice but as they are the only cables on my bike it doesn't look out of place.

  • Cheers - hadn't though of that for theings like these but I suppose everything turns up eventually.
