Commencal Skin

Hi all, i am thinking about buying a new xc hardtail, i was planning on spending up to about £2000 and had been thinking a 29er or maybe see what comes out at the end of the year and get a 650b, however i mate has decided to sell their 2009 commencal skin, it has x9, reba forks and a brand new pair of crossrides, he is looking for £900 for it which is about half what it cost new. The problem being the bike is in Canada so i won't be able to test ride it before buying and no local bike shops stock them so i can't try one out.

Question is do i bite the bullet and go for it, then maybe in 2 or 3 years once 29ers and 650b bikes have either been around a bit longer or died out get a new bike then, or shall i hold out and see what comes out at the end of the year? Anyone else have or ridden a Skin and able to shed any light on them?
