Hey Everyone,

Can anyone tell me what the difference between the Shimano Deore XT RD-M780 Shadow 10-speed is and the Shimano Deore XT RD-T780 Shadow 10-speed. Other than one is *designed* for touring>?

I currently have a bike which has the

Shimano Deore XT Front dérailleur M780 Top Swing, 34.9mm, 10-speed
CRANK Shimano FC-M552 2-Piece 42x32x24T, 175mm, integrated BB, 3x10 speed

and Im replacing it with ( to get the higher gearing)

Shimano Deore XT FD-T780 Top Swing, 34.9mm, 10-speed
Shimano Deore XT FC-T781 Hollowtech II 48x36x26T., 175mm, integrated BB

Can I leave the rear dérailleur "Shimano Deore XT RD-M780 Shadow 10-speed" alone with this new setup or should I also replace it "Shimano Deore XT RD-T780 Shadow 10-speed"

Is there a quality difference in the two components?

Thanks
Matt

I thought about it but I'm not sure weather I would need to.

Is it a case of if I don't change the cassette then no need to change the rear dérailleur?

The bike I have is a Cube LTD race 2012 (I'm struggling to find anything out about the rear cassette to know if its compatible with my new choices)

A new chain because of the length?

Nothing to add, but interested in the outcome (don't know how to subscribe without posting).

I have Cube Ltd Pro 29 with the same setup, and am interested in knowing what upgrade options I might have in the future.
