Good morning peoples,
just taken delivery of a Charge Plug freestyler to replace my mongoose hardtail, mainly for the commute to work as the old horse weighs a tonne an not really suitable for uphill or road for that matter and also to have a bike to pootle around the road on sunny sundays.
Been doing 10miles a day + on the old horse so should be fit enough for the sprint home, just worried about the single speed being an issue

Well done - I like the look of Charge bikes a lot.
Most single-speed bikes are easily converted to internal hub gear so if you find you really need some gears it shouldn't be difficult or too expensive to sort that. I use just three-speeds myself which is plenty for my 8-mile not-to-steep-hills daily commute.0 -
Just nipped to the sandvich shop at lunch and it's a whole load lighter/faster than my mongoose, still not sure on these skinny wheels/tyres but whooosh! 8)0

wheeles can easily be changed/upgraded,thats part of the fun, also different size tyres should be option too (with correct inner tube too)0

You'll get used to it. I brought a single speed and wished I had brought one sooner. Just wait till you come to the hills!Cannondale Trail 6 - crap brakes!
Cannondale CAAD80 -
turns out its the new riding position not the SS - coming from a MTB a size too small, this feels great but my back isnt used to the positioning yet and wow the tiger balm was required to be able to move about & get to work after my previous test
glad to be single speed though have managed to spin out downhill, i can live with that as long as my knees hold out for the uphill lark :-)0
