It's about time I upgraded the old girl, it's basically bog standard apart from tyres, saddle, grips, and pedals, last major item was a set of reba rlt forks which are so much better than the darts. I'm thinking wheels or groupset, the wheels are pretty good functionally, and need to replace the chain, possibly the cassette (3rd chain, 2nd cassette) and still on the original front rings so I'm inclined to go the groupset route. I was looking at the SLX on Merlin, £245 http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/Bike+Shop ... OUP-10.htm
which takes me to 10 speed as a bonus (?) as well. Is this a sensible way to spend or should I stick with the deore and blow it on some wheels?
Riding is mainly xc on and around the south downs.

right ordered, red hubs, black rims plus new qr's can't wait!
Are the rims able to go tubeless? If so worth doing?

Indeedly do, the rims are 'tubeless ready' - see Stan's webpage for details.0
