First road bike

Hey guys,

I recently bought a MTB which is great for me (I like having the option of road/trails etc) but it does come with a few problems (I'm sure you are all a lot more aware of this than me!) I'm a complete noob when it comes to bikes but I enjoy going out on them and thats the main thing. I'm sure I'll learn more with time.

Anyway ...

I have just entered for my first triathlon in a few months, nothing major but a nice entry into for me. With this coming up, and the potential of a temporary job becoming long term/perm (so I can cycle from home-work) I am going to start looking into the idea of buying a road bike. I have never bought one/riden one before so advice would be great!

What road bikes would you guys recommend? Anything to avoid like the plague?!

Is that £700 including accessories? Or just for the bike? I assume you have some jerseys etc already.

First of all go and have a sit on as many as you can to see which fit you best, then out of those pick the one with the best spec/which one you like the look of most.

The Specialized Allez is a good starter bike.
