HOPE road BBvs Mountain BB (chainline etc)
I went into my LBS to replace my shimano bb with a Hope BB.
Trouble is the guy sold me the Mountain version of the BB, which I fitted as per the instructions on my 68mm bb shell tiagra triple road bike.
not quite right now.
my question is this; what is the actual difference in dimensions (precise if possible) between the road and mountain versions of Hope BBs?

Road;

I think the centre tubes are of different lengths , but Ive no idea what the difference is as dimensions are not on the above diagrams

everything is the same except the width of the central tube, as you suggest.
and you can buy just the central tube, to convert a 'road' into a 'mtb'.
see http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=80496
and http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=36410
and you can obviously run it without the central tube
Note: the MTB fitment will also have three spacers, as per Shimano (2 driveside, 1 NDS, on a 68 shell). Road setups run no spacers.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
LBS fixed it. they admitteed to having sold me the wrong bb and put a road one on FOC with all the corect spacers (6.5 mm on drive side and 3mm NDS). All perfect now.15 miles each way commuter (soon to be 20)
