Booked 4 days of uplifts and 5 nights in a Villa in the Algarve - Portugal. Has anyone got any experience of the trails in the area so I can know what to expect? Looks like a lot of long technical descents followed by bbq and beer!

It's great, my OH and I had a week of riding the tracks on Monchique mountain in December. It's kinda like long, enduro downhill type stuff, rocky slabs and boulder fields and open heath/moor type stuff at the top, then you get into rooty, eucalyptus forest lots of big drops (optional) on some tracks, then you finish in more open cork forest and picking your way between ancient terraces. It's a really interesting mix of natural feel trail and dug out, man-made berms and features. There's some pedally bits too so if you are taking your own bike, make sure you can actually pedal it! For the rides we did a DH bike would be overkill.
A big 'thumbs up' for the riding there... Have a great time :D
