looking for, waterproof jacket,socks and overshoe suggestion

hey, just been out in the rain and realised that although i have tonnes of apparel for summer. i have got back in from the rain literally soaked to the skin! i would like a few suggestions. for all of these things i would rather spend less than more but do like mavic and altura as i have a few items in these brands. i am really looking for a waterproof jacket, the one i wore today was high vis but no waterproofing at all! also i realised i have no actually cycling socks i just some old running socks at the moment. the other thing was over shoes, my feet were pretty numb with cold and totally soaked when i got back so a good suggestion there too would be good. hope you can help.

Sometimes you're just going to get wet. If you've got cheap wet weather gear on - then it'll be from sweat.

The trick is to stay warm and wet - not cold and wet. Neoprene overshoes will certainly help - but they're really aimed at winter and will be too warn for wet summer days. try something like the Endura Slick covers.

I've had these for a couple of winters now and there's barely any wear on them. They're neoprene so keep your feet warm and they're npu coated so they're water proof too. In prolonged rain, any overshoe will allow a bit of water in the top, but these have a tight ankle, so this is minimal.
