So, what's your predictions for the 2012 season? Will Ducati return to form? Will Stoner be defeated?

I hate to say it but I think Stoner will have it his way again.
Like to see the Ducati up there with the doctor on board. At least in a position to challenge the Honda's and not rely on poor weather for performance.
And this year no death's in any of the classes.

Stoner to smash everyone up again and make everyone else feel the way Rossi used to make everyone feel.

Crutchlow to win at least one race, finish consistently on the podium and finish the season above 6th place.

Pedroser to be over rated and under performing all season again whilst commentators rave about him.

Stoner looks clear favourite. Can't see vale doing much better than last season. I think if pedrosa can stay away from injury then he may be stoners closest rival. Tbh though ill be more interested in moto 2 and bsb again, more action. Although will be interesting to see how the new CRT teams go. I'll stick my neck out and go 1pedrosa 2stoner 3lorenzo final standings :?

I reckon Pedrosa will be damned fast, if he can keep it the right side up.
I'd love to see Rossi back on top, but realistically I reckon it'll take at least another season.

Pedrosa is under massive, massive pressure, especially on the new 1000cc bikes. The fact that he's super-light helps him and he's undoubtedly quick but he can't cope physically. As well as the change of bikes he's also got huge pressure coming from Marc Marquez, the new Spanish wonderkid who has the same sponsors and it's those sponsors that will demand that he (Marquez) replaces Pedrosa if we have another "well he was quick on his way to the physio's couch" season.

Stoner is just on another planet and it will take a tactical nuclear strike or Honda/Repsol or someone turning the wick down on his bike to let anyone else in with a shout.

Ducati are still way too far back having flogged the dead horse of the carbon chassis for so long and now having to play catch up. Perhaps they should have realised that Stoner was just a force of nature and the other, quality teammates that he had weren't simply taking the piss when they said that the bike was that bad!

I think Rossi will seriously think of retiring and moving over to cars. Ferrari in F1 as a target?

Doubt it. He tried rallying for a shirt while, and, frankly bit off a hell of a lot more than he could chew. He might be a wunderkind on a motorbike, but he sucked more balls than Sheeps' mum as a racing driver.

  • Can't believe no one thinks lorenzo is a title contender . From what i have seen of testing yamaha and honda look prity close performance wise . Think its between stoner and lorenzo.

Nah, Lorenzo's another one who can't stay rubber side down!

Lorenzo has no "rubber side down" issues anymore. In fact he was one of the most consistent finishers last year, hence his championship position. It was only his rookie season when Rossi got into his head that he was a crasher. He'll do well, but he's not Stoner and he's not on the Honda.

If Cal can keep his testing performances going into race distance then he could embarrass both Dovi (his new team mate) and Spies.

Lorenzo is definitely in with a shout, he may win, but definitely will be a top 4 finisher for sure.
I'd still wager that Stoner will walk away with the crown though.

You'd be foolish to bet against Stoner, but the Hondas are reporting a lot of chatter. If this is going to be a factor after 20 laps (Stoner is known for doing short runs) we'll see on Sunday night. Pedrosa, will be a contender if he stays fit.

Lorenzo is going to want his title back and I'd like to see Spies do well this year. Everyone has been on about how the bigger bike will suit him. Maybe that the tyres go 'off' quickly will work into his and Cal's favour as they both like it when the bike slides. Dovi will be quick as per usual, not sure if he has the will to win.

Rossi is an unknown, he seems fired up and ready for it. Is he just killing time until he can retire on his millions and go and play in rally cars. He seems to enjoy this, not placing super high in the WRC rounds that he's done, but he seems to enjoy the Monza Rally. Even winning a few times

Out of the Cheap Racing Technology bikes, it looks like a straight up fight between Randy dePuniet and Colin Edwards.

He's finished the final practice session second fastest behind Lorenzo. I'm not saying he'll qualify or finish the race in second but this is the standard of his riding since he's been on the new 1000cc bikes.
