Sorry, probably unnecessary
But then if you're a beginner, then a spending £3.7k on Madone 6.2 is probably an overkill and unnecessary. You can get a superb bike for less than half that and I believe that this years Cycling Plus bike of the year, the Focus Izalco Pro 3.0, complete with UDi2 is available for £1999.
Why the Trek ? Seems a lot of money to blow on a bike for a beginner.
Still, if you have that cash to burn, then why not (although for that money, I'd go a completely different route !), But expect some more flak from this lot on here (It's well intentioned though, mostly, so don't take it to heart !)Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

TBH I dont just think its an issue spending the cash if you have it so spend, but be dam sure your buying the right thing! It may be smarter to buy a cheaper bike to ride for the 1st 6 months while you learn about the groupsets, frames, wheels etc that are avalible and what suits you. You would probably find that if you jumped on any top frame be it a Specalized Tarmac, Trak Madone, Pinerello Dogma, Bianchi etc it will feel great and 'be for you' if its set up right.
Just my 2p of what I would do/did.0 -
pi55take alert...
What do you get for the man with everything?
Penicilin
Apology: Sorry, couldn't manage to get 'irate' in a Daily Mail way about someone buying exactly what he wants, man after my own heart, got it, spend it, enjoy it, you're a long time dead.my isetta is a 300cc bike0 -
