Is there a comparison site which gives guidelines on effective durability of tires?

For example if I paid more for a race tyre should i expect lower mieleage in return for performance?

Eg I use schwalbe Blizzards that have consistantly given me 3000+ miles before they square off. Could I expect the same retirn from an Ultremo?

As a commuter longetivity and durability is more important than weight, rolling resistance etc

One of the German bike mags tested tyres very comprehensively.

The Conti GP4000S kicked ass and I've ridden on them for many years and I'd not use any others. Great tyres.

I ride them and i would say all of the above.
Only had 1 puncture commuting in london, extremely quick, great rolling resistance. 30 or so quid a tyre (sometimes 50 a pair from abroad - rosebikes or something).

I have a couple of nicks in the rubber which haven't caused any issues, but it is a bit annoying seeing as even the wear indicators aren't finished. I reckon I replaced them 3-4 months ago (at least) and they have LOTS of live left.

Not sure of mileage. I reckon *puts finger in air* have put about 1,500 on them and would probably do the same again without issue.

I know the said German magazine and recall what a German may describe as rigour (anal to most) - believe me all you need to know is that it was thorough and scientific – for the sake of your own sanity, and the risk you might err into repeating its findings in a pub chat (which could be life threatening) that’s all you need to know – yes it was about durability and vorsprungdurchtechnic-ness, as you might expect.

Cougie, i can say the same thing about schwalbe Blizzards at £12 each. Ive got 3000 miles per set to date. I only replace because i wear them down to a square shape. Yet i know people who run Ultremos that need replacing a lot sooner. Im not consistent or fast enough to appreciate a race tire. Puncturewise I used to run Conti Gatorskins and was puncturing 2-3 times a month, now im down to 2-4 a year. Im not brand loyal or a schwalbe fan boy, I just know my own statistical findings. Would like to see same statistical findings to compare tires based on real world usage.

Whihc is why I ask. If I pay more I want to get more, not less
