Hi i'm looking to upgrade the wheels on my gt avalanche to something smoother and serviceable I have been looking at hope hoops with a mavics rim as I don't wanna go tubeless but I wanna do it on a budget as I only ride once a week I do mostly trail centres and peak district but I do ride quite aggressively dropoffs jumps etc and people keep telling me hope which I keep coming back too bit with a decent pricetag I'd like some other options i've looked at fulcrum red powers and mavics own but reviews are mixed at best problem is people compare wheels against expensive sets i'm looking to spend sub 200 otherwise I might as well get the hopes also i'm on the weighty side at 6'2 and 18 stone plz help

For £220 have a look at Superstar Switch hubs and Stans Flow rims.0

I thought stans flow rims were tubeless??0

You can run any tyre on them.0

Tubed or tubeless, infact, they are tubed by default, tubeless actually requires some conversion. Not sure about longevity yet, but I got my bro-in-law some of these, and they are very nicely made. Really cannot fault them for £200 Good weight too.

Why not save £20 and get the Mavic XM719 on superstar switch evo hubs?
Superstar wheels are very well built. I have got the EX721 rims on Switch Evo hubs & they are bombproof.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
