Hi,

There is about 0.5 mm of buckle on my rear wheel. Can see it relative to gap between rim and brake pad as wheel turns.

Is this acceptable of should I address it?

The wheel spokes don't seem loose.

Thanks
Dan

More than I would like to have.

  • Is it clockwise to tighten a spoke (looking from above a spoke at the rim end)?

edit, not to worry ive found some online videos. Its anticlockwise to tension, clockwise to loosen.

Im looking at spoke wrenches but I don't know what size to get.

    Thanks

I'd have said about 1mm on disc brake wheels is acceptable, but if your brakes are rubbing then I guess it's a problem.

You can get spoke keys that have various different sizes on them, probably best getting one of those. They're not as nice to use as a pro spoke key, but they're cheaper.

  • only v brakes. not rubbing, just asking the question. could do with the tool anyway for future use.

If it feels fine when riding, then I'd say it's fine.
