Fox dhx 5 looses air when pumping up?

hi ive got a dhx5 rear shock on my bike and when i try to add air to max pressure, when taking the pump off it looses most of its air, im using a rockshox pump would this make any diffrence? ive done hundreds of forks/shocks at work and never had one like this.... Air is always whats left in the pump that escapes.

Anyone else had problems? i want to try a new valve and a fox pump if i can find one

Is it really? The escaping air is from the pump not the shock. Unless the valve on the shock if damaged.
