I need to replace gear and brakes cables. I looked on the web and seem to be spoilt for choice and price. Its been a long time since I bought any so am not sure whats what these days. brakes and mechs are dura-ace (8 speed) so I would like some better quality ones. any suggestions?

transfil ones are ok, plus they do complete packs with all the bits...

I quite like the transfil ones too and the price is not ridiculous.

Gore are often recommended but I've never stumped up the cash for them.

I switched to Gore Ride-On Professional cables because I was worried about the internal cable routing on my new frame and wated the fully lined / sealed system. They are a daft price, but the improvement on the standard Campag is noticeable, for the gear changes at least. Gear changes feel slicker and lighter.
  • Can't go wrong with Jagwire racer sets. They even now come with Teflon coated cables.

Really good quality and can be had for about £25 on flea bay.
