New to road riding

I have a Cannondale MTB which i ride off road with(nothing to heavy), and im now looking at buying a road bike to ride to work and evenings/weekends etc, im not sure if i should get a Hybrid or a racer.

With a budget or around a £1k can anybody recommend anything.

Boardman Road Team Alloy - nice kit
Rose Pro-2200? - good spec
Ribble bikes - Any of their frames can be spec'd to £1000 -> some nice carbon frames
Canyon Roadlite
Planet X Pro carbon Rival
Specialized Allez Elite
BMC Streetracer SR01
Bianchi Via Nirone -a very pretty bike

these are all pretty well spec'd and generally get good reviews -> you should have enough to investigate with that list!
