Trek looks overpriced compared to the Cube imo.

I can understand if you want to support your LBS and keep the money in the community, but you should also take a look here where the Sl can be had for 999 GBP including shipping:

Or for even less, you can get the LTD CC which, with the exception of the brakes, has a full XT group and cost 916 GBP

Both bikes have the same geometry so it comes down to a couple differences between the shocks (Fox vs Reba RL), brakes (Shimano vs Magura), and crankset/shifters (FC/SLX vs XT). The seats are different too.
