late October: best place?

Where would be the best place to go for a week, late October, preferably Europe (further afield possible), for a small-ish group of intermediate (but fit) riders wanting singletrack, some lift access (though I accept this is not always feasible out of season) and most importantly, fun trails.
We'd need to be able to rent bikes for the whole week and hire a guide, again, for the duration of the visit. I know Scotland has much of what we're looking for but the potential for the weather to be horrific (this is a holiday after all) is too big of a worry.
Does any one know much about Corsica, or is that too much of a wild card?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Also Switchbacks do singletrack holidays during summer months (incld Oct) and downhill in the winter - both van lift assisted.

or another options could be the alps but van assisted rather than lift assisted. There's a place near Les Gets that caters for small - medium sized groups and does off season singletrack / natural DH stuff - http://www.ridethealps.com/holidays/alp ... rack-week/
also other places in the Alps such as Les Arcs quite often run early / late season trips. Not sure on availibility in october but these guys may be worth a look in. http://www.trailaddiction.com/mountain- ... lidays.php0
