cycled to work today for first time in 20+ years, can't be bothered with all this petrol queing business, just save my tank and ride in for a while. Had to borrow a girly looking pump bag, did the job but swang around too much.
So, I believe we will have a lot more of this petrol shortage in the future, so worth preparing for it. Just need a small one, enough for trousers, shirt, tie, shoes, small towel and bit of room for some snacks, what has everyone got then what can you recommend.

    i use one of these

    I carry

Shoes, Trousers, Socks, Pants, Towel, Book, Lock, Commuting essentials (tube, levers, multi-tool, rubergloves), showering stuff. and enough food to last me all day.

its nice as the bag doesn't sit fully against the back - although you still get sweaty.

for my small requirements and to filter out sizes, what storage litre should I be looking at, don't want to end up with a biggie.

i used to use 20L but now don't have locker at work so have to carry shoes as well.

but depending on how you pack it 20-30L should do it

I've got a deuter and it's very comfy. A race Air EXP, would recommend.

try and leave shoes at work - makes up more than 50% of the weight given your list of packing items!

I could do the old trick of taking clothes in at begining of the week and taking home end using the car, but I have decided to be fully reliant on the bike, Shoes I am just taking some light nice sort of slippers pumps, go okay with my office trousers no problem there, they weigh nothing, with a bigger sack I could take my main shoes as I am not carrying much else, I get all my food and drink at work too so no need to carry that.
Two days done and a full gallon of petrol saved, might continue next week too as the strike looks unlikely now, enjoying riding though, but I do miss my 200bhp

I use my crappy Targus one (as supplied by employer) and it works fine. Large pocket for clothes, front pocket for lunchbox or shoes (which I leave at work, anyway) and mini pocket for wallet. Phone/pass/keys go in jersey.
