Hello,
I`m looking for a new full susp bike for £1000- 1500 or frame under £1000 for freeride, but my budget is very small.
I were riding Kona Stub Suprime before, but after big crash 2 years ago (12 broken bones) and (broken frame and fork) a decided to give up Freeride. Now looking for new bike just for myself and some small competition. I stayed little bit back in time after crash, so please you to give advice about new trends and bikes.
Cheers, Mike.

Look for 170-180mm bikes with a shorter wheelbase. It depends how big you want to go (off of things, I'm guessing English isn't your first langauge?). Canyon are a direct sales company and undercut the competition a long way so new bikes can be had cheaply there. I have a Torque and have to say it's a brilliant bike. If you want to look second hand, try the Specialized Demo 7 / 8 / 9 depending on what exactly you want from a bike. Generally though, the shift in trends is towards lighter weight bikes, that are more manouverable and not necessarily towards more travel. Any bike which has pro pedal (fox rear shock) or platform damping is a bonus because it's a technology which allows the shock to dial out pedal induced squat (bobbing up and down). If you are riding up trails or along flats, it's really very useful.

Was speaking to DH instructor last week who swears by his Scratch and said he'd never buy another DH bike again :? Then again he was trying to sell me his 2010 so he could get the 2012 version.
Seemed a bit heavy to me..about 16kg I think"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes

It's a much better than job than I could do with [insert any other language here]. Is your budget in Euros? Even the Canyon Torque is out of that price. Best be looking second hand I think. After a quick browse of Pinkbike, this Demo 8 is the only think I'd be interested in. There's a Voltage too. Here's a Demo7...
I keep finding things of interest now... A Marin Quake...0 -
The Giant Reign X is surprisingly good. Chris Smith used to ride one when he was a pro freerider for Giant, he had no problems going big on it. I know another ex pro freerider/world cup DH racer who rides one very hard and goes big on it.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
