Hi all, I'm looking for a new pair of bibs and possibly matching top of same brand.

In the past I've used Assos Fi UNO shorts, served me v well indeed and found them probably the best shorts I've used. Looking online to see what's about I really like the look of Castelli race aero shorts and also the sportful pro ltd edt bibs.

Has anyone ever owned a pair of the Castelli or sportful bibs?

I've had numerous pair of shorts in the past few years, santini, altura ergo fit, giordana tenax and none of these in MO measure pot the assos. The assos shorts have come along way in the last few yrs which is why I'm tempted to just buy them again, however to be fair to the other brands so have they, but I've never had the above and would appreciate info from anyone here that has used them.

They need to be comfy for a good length of time. Around 100 mile.

Thanks

You'll get lot's of people giving positive feedback for Castelli on this forum. However, why risk it? You know the Uno's suit you well and as you say, they are well made and last years. Why not stick to what has already served you well?

I've tried a few alternatives and I do like the Kiss pads in some Castelli's, but I always come back to Assos in the end!

I have a pair of Unos, Milles and Castelli Free Aero Race.
They are all excellent although I prefer the Castelli. I think (from ribble) they are cheaper too.
However they are really best for warmer weather or racing in due to the material used on the side panels. Some people may find the chamois a bit too padded, I love them for this though!

Never found anything better than Assos. And I'd say avoid Sportful - after less than year the pad on my Sportful bibs was about as much use as a kitchen towel.

Yes this is the feeling I get. I remember only a few yrs ago when this brand came onto the market, it was known for cheap cycling kit and all of a sudden almost over night their top of the line bibs are similar priced to assos and castelli.... I mean Really?

Thanks and I know your right. I really do agree but just sometimes you need that 2nd opinion..... I really wish Assos jerseys were more exciting though. Tbh I think they look a bit boring, but I think this is something I'll have to live with. Maybe buy the shorts and a totally different top.

    Thanks

Have you checked out the new uno jersey? I've never been a huge fan of assos jerseys either, but quite fancy the new 2012 design.

Hi yes I've seen it but don't like it. The only assos jersey I don't mind is the Millie. But it's not at the top of my list tbh.

TBH, i've just bought some super mario (MCipollini) bib shorts. They feel every bit as good quality and fit as assos. And half the price.
