A friend of mine is about to do the 3 peak's chalange with a twist, he's going to ride his bike between the 3 mountains, about 500 miles in in 7 days as well as the climb's and he's going to do it un-aided.
here's the challange in his own words.
I think everyone I know has had their lives touched in some way by one of the charitable emergency services and there are very few that make such a huge direct impact on our lives when we need them most as the Air Ambulance. All of you people who ride bikes (pedal and motor) and take part in all kinds of dangerous activities may need their help at some point and North West Air Ambulance have reported that life is getting difficult financially so lets do something to help!
I've decided that one way I can help is to challenge myself and do something extraordinary so I came up with My 3 Peaks Challenge to be completed in April 2012.
Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis in a week, sounds pretty easy so I am going to ride my bike between them and carry everything I need with me with the possible exception of food.
Just to recap The Highest peaks in Wales, England and Scotland and over 500 miles by bike unsupported in a week.
I hope you feel this is a worthy challenge for a worthy cause and give generously, I can always increase the target figure if you are feeling especially generous.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now."
i think you'll all agree that it's a great cause, and i'm sure if you could donate even the smallest amount, graham would be so greatfull.
