Chunky tyres on a Boardman
Hello,
I'm currently running the standard 23mm continental ultra sport that came with the Boardman Team aluminium bike.
If I were to put some higher volume tyres on the bike would it make the ride more comfortable? I'm not that bothered rolling speed.
Ive got the tape measure out and I think I can easily fit 28mm if not a bit bigger.
Any recommendations on tyres that will help smooth out the bumps?
Thanks
Simon

Definitely. I run 25mm all the time now - Michelin Pro Optimums at the moment which aren't too cheap but I've found good.
25s make a big difference but you can get some decent stuff in 28mm too - e.g. Conti Gatorskins or Michelin Dynamic sport (cheap).
I'm big and 25s are perfectly fine - you might not need to go to 28s and there is a lot more choice at 25.I'm left handed, if that matters.0 -
28s should fit but you may not squeeze in guards as well, if you wanted to. Conti Gatorskins come in 28 and roll well, definitely help take the edge of the potholes.0

Cheap 2 pack of GP 4 seasons on wiggle at the moment, with tubes...0
