Am onthe look out for some longer travel forks (preferably black). If anyone has any they wish to sell or ideally swap for the 100mm recons on the bike at the moment which are in good condition let me know.

 holy smokes! Never seen one in that colour before. I like it though!0

Thanks, I was taken by it when I saw it in the On-One showroom. I went for a black one and when they didnt have one in my size i left empty handed. But thought more and more about the yellow one so went back and got one. I think it looks pretty good too, and no I havent seen any other yellow ones either. They did have solid red frames in stock too as well as black with red detail, black with green detail and black with grey detail.

any chance you could post a picture of the rear mud clearance and note what tyres you're running?0 -

I ran a 2.4 Nobby Nic all winter on mine with no clearane issues.0 -
nice bike - different colour!
As for mud clearance - you could run anything back there and have no issues - tons of clearance at the rear0 -
Ok, so, for my birthday I was bought some new forks by my wife (collected from Mountainmonster this morning in a lay-by on the A14.....)
Look pretty nice I reckon. Can't wait to give them a try on a proper trail! Bike now weighs bang on 26lbs. No really light pimp stuff on there apart from the forks atm. Gears are boggo sram X9/X7, big on-one seat and heavyish seatpost. Cranks are ancient off my old stumpy with a really heavy internal b/b.

Cracking looking bike. I do have a soft spot for extreme colours. It just means that when you fall off its easier to see where your bike has gone!0

That's fantastic- needs a blacker saddle though! Love it... Didn't need to see it actually, I've got a boring black C456 and I miss my yellow Mmmbop, £250 for a colourchange eh...Uncompromising extremist0

Thanks. Will be on the lookout for a black saddle I think. Do have a black on-one one, big nose or something but its too uncomfy. The white inbred one was off my summer season that was the donor bike for this build. Will have to wait till next month now though....http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7231/6933696372_603c9ce220_b.jpg

A few updates:
Ran most of last summer with a double FSA chainset (42/27) and the clearance was non existent (no close-ups I'm afraid). I had to space it out by an additional b/b spacer which I wasnt too happy about. It was also fairly hard work around Wales so I have changed over the winter to a more standard double (36/27) with bash set up. I also ended up buying a double specific SLX front mech as the triple one I had used before clashed with the chainstay when moved down to suit the new 36 tooth chainring:

Also switched to a shorter stem (80mm I think from memory). Spacers still in to check I'm happy before cutting steerer down:

I also had some credit at on-one so when an individual rear wheel came up I took the opportunity to replace my distinctly unstraight cross ride with one of their max wheels. only trouble is it was a gold anodised hub and nipples which I don't like as I was trying to keep everything apart from the frame black, but hey it was cheap and you can't win them all. No doubt i'll break that soon enough anyway and I can save up for my dream hope wheelset....
So, my bright yellow on-one 456 as it looks today:

Nice. I've got the same frame. What size is the lizard skin?0
-
Not sure, someone else asked that. All I could do was point them toward the crc page which had the sizes on (click description tab).

Looks absolutely superb pal, you've got a great spec there0

Liked it before and like it now. Yellow would be the only other colour I'd have through choice. The pace forks go really well with it tooFamily, Friends, Fantastic trails - what else is there

Last night was a perfect evening for a bimble round some local bridleways. Nothing much changed on my bike, just liked the photo:
