Sportwool - colourfast?

I've found my lycra kit to be pretty colourfast and have often washed it with whites at 30°. I now have a Rapha Sportwool jersey (and more on the way) and I'm wondering if the same applies.
Do you treat Sportwool any different to lycra?

I wash sportwool, pure merino and lycra all the same - 30c wash, hang to dry.
I've probably put my Rapha classic jersey through the wash 10 times- still looks like new. I think it's putting stuff through a tumble drying cycle that really kills it.
Edit: I also have a club jersey (the ugly green/yellow one from last season- moment of madness!) that's been through the wash upwards of 30 times- still looks new too.0 -
The cream/lime/green? I have to admit I really like that, it's the first one I bought. Now I have a couple of pink ones on the way because I'm a massive tart.
Cheers for the reply. I have to say I'm really impressed with Sportwool. I wore the jersey for something like 5 rides without washing it and it just barely smells. My regular kit is toxic after a couple of hours!0 -
Here here, I've just got back from a one hour (better whisper this bit) run in a so cooled clima cool t-shirt, but still honk of toxic waste. Can ride in my merino baselayer and jersey in back to back rides and still feel 'clean.' Ive only ever used merino in winter though, have yet to try merino kit in the height of summer.
As for washing, Ive managed to shrink a baselayer, and have only ever washed my Rapha jersey by hand. I won't dare put it through the wash!0 -
I wouldn't mind shrinking my stuff actually. Even XS is a little generous.0

Yeah, I liked that jersey too! Although, I ordered the pink one in the sale too...and returned it as the tart factor was off the scale. Respect to you for being brave enough to wear it!
Sportswool is fab. I only have 3 jerseys made of it, but don't go near my smelly pro-team poly jobs now.Never mistake motion for action

Yep, guilty- the cream/lime/green one. I thought it was cool too, until I was reliably informed (quite forcefully) that it was no such thing by the girlfriend. This is why the classic jersey is a winner- can't go wrong with black!
I actually thought the pink one was good too- until I saw it in real life. There's pink, and then there's that jersey. Funnily enough, when I went to the Rapha sample sale it was incredibly slim pickings, other than box after box full of those pink jerseys. Not one of Rapha's finest moments!0 -
It is a pretty violent pink, not quite what I was expecting from the website. Haven't tried it yet but I'll probably keep them anyway.0
