Hi.

Can't find them anywhere, basically got a set of 105 wheels for 30 quid but they need some maintenance, the lock nut unit (Y-4CF 98020) needs replacing as the bearing race or w/e it is called is rough, I also need for the rear a Right had cone M10 x 12.7mm (Y-3BH 02100)

Anyone know anywhere that has got these cause I'm not having much luck.

Thanks
Will.

I have some spares from a Deore hub... some might fit (not the race I suspect, but locknut and cone might). If you want them, PM me, I'll just charge you a couple of quid to send them

    try...

    http://www.madison.co.uk/

...they are the distributor, they should be able to supply things

    otherwise...

    http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/

    ...or...

    http://www.slanecycles.com/

...both hold a lot of spares

the part codes aren't always helpful in finding bits, try using the hub model plus description, some parts may be found under a different code covering a few bits as a set (like cone+washer+seal for instance), if you can't find them on the madison site, phone them

if the cone(s) are worn, i'd change the ball bearings too

You can occasionally find an entire hub costs less than the spare parts you're looking for...

And how much do I add to that for the cost of building the wheel?

You'd need to be doing it yourself or have a wheelbuilding friend to make it cost-effective really

It's not a wheel many would want to rebuild, especially for free... it uses a similar hub/pattern to Mavic, which are quite a pain in the xxxx to rebuild. You need someone experienced in building this type of wheel, which will probably charge by hour...

Unfortunately this is the downside of (most) factory wheels

I'm assuming keef meant that a 5600 hub would be cheaper than the parts, so no wheel rebuilding needed, just cannibalise the bits you need from the new hub.

I've done that several times, particularly with freehubs and cones/bearings
