Broken Arm

Came off my MTB last weekend and cracked my radial head. I've been told to keep moving the elbow joint, rest in a sling when tired and avoid all weights and resistance for another week. Then I can start to do more letting the pain dictate how much I do.

I've decided not to do the Kinross Sportive at the end of April but am targetting the Caley Etap in May.

Has anyone got experience of recovering from a radial head fracture? Am I likely to have regained enough strength to squeeze the brakes and cope with the road vibration in about 8 weeks?

I cracked my radial head two years ago playing football. Very painful it was too.

I'm sure I gave it two and a half weeks. It was murderously painful on the bike for a good while after though. Pain eventually stopped.

Can't fully straighten my arm though, and never will be able to. My advice is to keep the movement going as much as you can, you can treat this injury fairly aggressively I think.

    Good luck.

    Thanks Jim.
