shimano 7 speed shifter replacement help

Have shimano sora 7 speed on the current winter hack. Left shifter has gone kaputt so looking to replace it.
Cant find a 7 speed shifter anywhere though!

As its only the left shifter, would an 8 or 9 speed shimano sora / tiagra shifter work??

    You just need a triple or double shifter (depending on what you're running). Even Campag would work I think.

    Certainly would !

    Sora 7 didn't look a lot different to Sora 8 or 2200 did it ?
    If so, get one of them cheap 2nd hand and no one will notice.

    I've got a couple of Sora 7 speed shifters. Left one's slightly scuffed on the hood from the SMIDSY that totalled the bike... They were NOS and had only been in use for 3.5 weeks.
