Are there any clubs in the Gateshead/Newcastle area that Time trial?
Wheres best?

    How far might I need to travel to find a club that time trials?

    There's bound to be. Have a look at the CTT site and that will give you a list of all clubs affiliated to the national body for time trialling. Have a look at the British Cycling website too for a list of clubs affiliated to them (most active clubs will be affiliated to both) - they've got a club finder thing so you can search on a map - though it is normally the club secs address that shows not always where the club meets.
    it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

    As far as I know both the Tyneside Vagabonds and Derwentside Cycling Club run a weekly time trial during the summer months - starting late April I think - so it may be worth calling their secretary to see whether they have a section of their club dedicated to time trialling rather than road racing.
