Rear Tyre Flat Spot

Swapped the tyres around on my bike and noticed the first time out that the front was vibrating, so came back and investigated.

Got the truing stand out and immediately noted a flat spot on the rubber. Took off the tire and looked at the wheel, and that was okay, so it was the tyre. Anyone care to hazard a guess why my rear tyre developed a flat spot, think it could be to do with leaving it over winter in one spot?

    Only if the tyres were flat over the winter. That's bad for them, by the way; it can damage the carcass.

    Other than that, I'd say the back brake's been locked up at some point.

    Oh yes I locked it a little while back, my heart was doing the racing, small incident with a Skoda pulling out. I think they were flat over the winter, ordered a couple of new ones.

    Fitted new rubber, and sorted, will keep the old tyre for use of the trainer on the front wheel in winter in the garage brrrrrrrr, -15C a few years back.
